Grogans Mill Village Shopping Center Update!
Malaysian Restaurant and Coffee Shop/Organic Market boutique
Phat Eatery - New Restaurant coming to the old Fuddruckers space in Grogans Mill Village shopping center.
Fresh Malaysian tree food + warm hospitality by 2022 James Beard Awards Semifinalist Alex Au Yeung.
Expect Crispy Peking Duck at Phat Eatery’s New, Expansive Woodlands Restaurant - Slated to open in early 2023, Phat Eatery’s outpost in the Woodlands promises a larger space and an expanded menu
Located at 2290 Buckthorne Place at the Grogan Mills Village outpost, the new location is set to serve up the same favorites as the Katy outpost, but with the ability to seat twice the amount of customers and will feature an open-concept kitchen.
The 7,800 square-foot restaurant will seat 180 guests in its dining room and will feature three private dining spaces — two that can be combined — and each seating anywhere between 12 and 80 people.
Street food-inspired dishes - plans to expand Phat’s dim sum offerings
Lunch service will also see an additional feature for midday dining and to-go orders. Taking inspiration from Japanese bento boxes during Japan’s decades-long occupation of Taiwan

🧿 Get out and support small business owners putting action towards revitalizing the Village center. Based on my experience visiting the previous location, the coffee is top notch and the atmosphere brought a welcome alternative to larger chain brands fighting for your 4bucks ⭐️💲☕️!

Historical information regarding this Shopping Center
“I had suggested the board may want to consider setting up a task force or including this with the economic development task force to do research with interested parties such as commercial real estate, the development company and others, to determine how the board may assist in development of this site,” Norrell said.
Sekula-Gibbs said she believed the centers should be kept comparable to other village shopping centers and could need their exterior looks updated as well.
“We want sales tax dollars coming out of that center,” she said.
🧿 What were the findings of this proposed Task force?
🧿 Does the exterior of this shopping center appear comparable to the other Village shopping centers? Have there been any exterior improvements or maintenance performed in the last 2.5 years?
What are some grocery store chains that have already been reached out to for the Randalls space?

What are some challenges filling the village center?
Multiple property owners
Land use is for a grocery store and there are several other newer grocery stores nearby and was not being supported by the local residents based on several factors.
At this time, No developers such as Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC) currently have any property in the shopping center
HHC will be transparent and communicate to the GMVA before any new developments transpire in that shopping center. Additional information that is helpful (Available to the public, just need to know where to look)
